It's easy to love

 

It's easy to love

When things go your way

Everything seems to be smooth

You laugh at each others jokes easily

Hold hands and kiss on a whim!

Life settles into the mundane

Slowly your likes and dislikes show up

I like the way your hair falls on your face, he says

Then he moves it with a sweep of his hand 

And places a tender kiss on your head!

There are the signs of ageing in both ..but..

She offers to do a spa treatment for him!

I've never done something like this before, he says

But I'll  be adventurous, ok?

Whilst you are thinking it's easy to love,

Ah! the disagreements sneak in!

You want to stay home,  just be!

But she wants to roam, walk and be free!

I've got this second chance

Do I go with the flow, agree, what do I do now?

A prompting comes.... 

'Do the things that make her happy, 

 And just be content with what you've done.'

It's so much easier to love,

When you are young, wild and free!

As life goes on, you see that

It's difficult to shake off 

Those prejudices that you have clung to!

You're thinking again, hmmm,

Do I count the cost and move on?

Be untangled,  be free, 

Be vulnerable, 

Or open your life completely to love again

And revel in the freedom of the love received ❤
