SIDNEY GNANIAH

     12th Aug 2024

Hi everyone..

I have some sad news.

My younger bro Sidney passed way last morning.
We weren't aware till almost 12noon.
We were running helter skelter to sort some arrangements out, however we couldn't finalise it.
So funeral arrangements may only be confirmed later today.
Will keep you all posted.
Please pray for my Mum of 85yrs who feels his loss greatly and we his siblings are basically hanging in there as we didn't expect his sudden passing.
Sidney was our 3rd sibling.
He had special needs
He taught us more about how to be kind through his love for animals.
He was a TV addict who knew all. the news and loved watching movies and documentaries. He also had a good sense of color and did some wonderful art when at his special School-
☆the Colombo Centre of Special Education and at times when he drew pictures with pens and colors at home.
He didn't ask much from life.
He taught us what it was to fight for his life over 3 times in his life. Once in 1987 Dec/Jan 1988 and twice after in 2015 and 2019.
He taught us about waiting on God and miracles.
He was a man of 59 with a childlike faith. He understood what it was to be born again- he went on his own to Methodist Church and Calvary and YFC and joined the young people to meet 'girls' as it were but met Jesus and made Him his Saviour.
He's understood what salvation in Jesus meant more than others in my family. He only came to Church Of The Good Shepherd Thimbirigasyaya briefly as they moved out of Colombo in 2015.
God, I believe took him home suddenly on 13th Aug, on my Dad's Birthday perhaps to prevent him from suffering.
It's been a roller coaster ride with trying to understand his life through his eyes and to care for him.
But am glad God gave him to us.
We will lay him to rest tomorrow.
May he rest in peace and rise in glory Amen.
