Something broke

Something Broke!
 

The days were full of delight

Conversation flowed 

Without a fight

I thought we were moving forward

Just then I heard a string break

Ting, under his finger it went

It hurt much, to hear the music fade

There were many songs in my heart 

Just before

Now things suddenly look bleak

I wonder, why you do waver so!

The pressures exerted are from outside

No! Not words spilled by me your beloved 

Are you not sure of your hearts rhythm? I ask.

Am I not worthy of your devotion and love?

           

What will it take.

For you to stand tall?

And say to the world

'I know it in my heart!'

Just say, I can't live without her by my side

Tell them, understand me and let me live my life!

They do know that the moment she walked into your life 

That pain and suffering was lifted from your heart?

Tell them, understand me please and let me live my life!

Then to my children I say

Many years of understanding have I not given you?

It was your time once but now things have changed,

She stands beside me 

Holds my hand

Wipes away the tears that spill from my eyes

Quietly she sits, stroking my hand, no words spoken, hearts in sync

Hand clutching hand, a comforting stance.

This is the way I want it, don't

I know I'll be fine.

I'll mend the string

And I'll play her the melodies

So I can hear her sing again

I will capture her sweet smile and embrace 

Throw her head back and  laugh out loud once again.
