Eulogy -1 For Nuala Thevathason

Thank-you Fr. for asking me to say a few words today.

It's not difficult to talk about her. All of you here have experienced her humility, her compassion and love over the years from the 1st moment you met her.
You may hv been a cat or a quiet or not so forward soul, but if you knew her , you have definitely experienced it.
She didn't hesitate to fight for someone else, but never for herself.
She was the 1st to help someone in need. She also got into little scrapes as she made herself vulnerable so could helps others.
You know what am talking about if you I've had spent a night with her in yr home chatting till the wee hrs of the morning.
In every conversation there was something funny, how this family of hers whom she adored-would have said or done .. Mummy Shireen, David, Lara, Ravi, Nigel, Dinushika, Adrian, Belinda, Alishya and Amendra and her family, Laksmi, Brad, Radha and Allanah I would hv heard these stories in no particular order.
She couldn't finish her sentences as she would squeal with laughter, loud enough to wake up the neighbors.

She lit up a room with her smile and she was never anxious even if we were.
SS Christmas plays in Church of the Good Shepherd were those moments for centre stage frenzied! But she would carry on regardless, with a few claps now order order!

I've asked a few friends to tell me their best memory of Nuni, and Ill read out a few chosen among the many I've received.

The boys Kieran, Ethan and Aaron the famous triplets, the ones who she taught and trained will read these tributes to you.....

Classmate Ruwanthi said she cleared out her room and gave her some trinkets recently which she loved, was she preparing for her departure? we'll hv to contemplate on that.

Classmate Romany -“When you say Nuala or Nuni, I breakout in a smile,as I only have happy memories of our friendship always laughing, joking and bullying each other.
When life threw curve balls at her she never got crushed by it but continued on as a soldier of Christ”

Talitha from Kerala, India says

Nuala was beautiful in every way and as Jesus said of John, she was a burning and a shining light. Luminous is the one word that describes her.

Amala -As for her life, she was always a child of God, everything she did was for him. Unwavering in her faith. Totally committed to teaching and inspiring children and others about the love of Jesus.

Githa says- Our association is so long...Am sorry I couldnt be here for you today, I'm deeply shocked and saddend by yr untimely passing. I've lost the opportunity to be a mad one with you forever on Earth, Nu we had so many plans for the future..I hope I'll be good enough to get to heaven to meet you!
The fondest memory I have with Nuala is, Christmas shopping for the Sunday School kids and teachers and gift wrapping till midnight 🎁
Sharmini

Nuala reminds us of the good and faithful servant in Matthew 25:20.
She multiplied her talents amongst a generation of Sunday School children.
Anil

Delani and Niranthi, Sunday School parents , said she taught the children the Books of the Bible through song and other Scripture through song as well. This was an exceptional talent she had and something we all benefited from.

Another parent Leisha said-she got the best out of our boys, the triplets!

We'll never forget yr smiling face and bubbly personality Aunty Nuala -say some young parents from the Tamil Congregation of our Church.

To me she will always be the person who encouraged me, taught me to be compassionate and to how to be a co-mentor to the lonely and not so popular girls we knew.
In closing I would like to say that
I'll cherish the times spent with her and her words and actions.

I know she is dancing in heaven with her Dad and enjoying scrumptious meals with him!

She's left us a challenge too

Hope we, as friends and family will be able to continue the rich legacy she leaves behind.

Am certain she will join the soon and coming King, our Lord Jesus and His army of believers who have gone before us, when He comes to greet us in the rapture.
The one thing she so wanted to see in her lifetime.

Now she can be the bright light who will come with Jesus to welcome us in the last days.

Rest in Jesus's everlasting peace my dearest sister and friend, Nuala.
